Airport Day, February 5, 2025: Airports on track for the Country

Today, February 5, 2025, we are celebrating Airport Day, an initiative born in collaboration with Assaeroporti, the industrial association of the sector to which we are affiliated.

The event will involve 17 airports across the country simultaneously, along with institutions, stakeholders, passengers, and the airport community.

On this day, we will highlight the central role that the airport system plays in the development, progress, and sustainability of our country. We will do this together with the airports of: Alghero, Bergamo, Bologna, Cagliari, Catania, Cuneo, Florence and Pisa, Genoa, Milan Linate and Milan Malpensa, Olbia, Palermo, Perugia, Turin, and Trieste.

Airports on Track for the Country

Airports are essential infrastructures that guarantee citizens' right to mobility and are at the forefront of a constant process of innovation and transformation, aimed at combining the values of social, economic, and environmental sustainability. Through the activities organized for Airport Day, we will share today the contribution of Naples airport to this process, reaffirming our commitment to local communities for a more sustainable and inclusive development and future.

Initiatives and Events

Airport Day is a widespread event, featuring a variety of appointments including talks, conferences, seminars, and other activities, such as institutional meetings and outreach initiatives aimed at passengers. In our airport, in particular, there will be an institutional meeting with Gaetano Manfredi, Mayor of Naples; Costanzo Jannotti Pecci, President of the Union of Industrialists of Naples; and our CEO Roberto Barbieri.

The Manifesto of Italian Airports

Airport Day aims to represent a moment of reflection, an opportunity to strengthen our sector's commitment to a more sustainable and inclusive development and future. For this reason, we are sharing today the Manifesto of Italian Airports, which summarizes the values and objectives that drive the airport system, at the heart of a positive change capable of combining economic growth, environmental protection, and social inclusion.

The Five Points

1. At the Service of Passengers. Airports guarantee the right to mobility for people and the circulation of goods, making territories more accessible and fostering encounters between peoples and cultures. Management companies work to improve the travel experience for everyone, with particular attention to passengers with disabilities or reduced mobility.

2. Development and Dialogue with Local Communities. Airports collaborate with institutions to promote the economic, tourist, and social development of territories. With policies focused on the common good, they create new growth opportunities for communities.

3. Inclusivity and Well-being. Airports promote equal opportunities and gender equality. Through initiatives for the well-being of employees and the airport community, they strive to make airports welcoming, inclusive, and fair workplaces.

4. Environmental Sustainability. For more sustainable air mobility, airports invest in renewable energy, adopt circular economy models, and implement low-impact environmental measures. They also promote green transportation to reduce their ecological footprint.

5. Technological Innovation. Management companies focus on innovation to improve services and increase the efficiency of airports. Airports, as modern and cutting-edge infrastructures, anticipate the future challenges of mobility.

Voices from the Terminal
“What does the airport represent for you?”

We asked our passengers and those who experience the airport every day to share their thoughts on a place that is much more than just a point of departure or arrival. It’s an opportunity to reflect on everything an airport can represent, even for the community and the territory.
