The Naples Airport Masterplan 2035 has been unveiled, outlining the airport’s strategic development over the coming years, with a strong focus on efficiency, sustainability, accessibility and integration with the city.
The plan provides for over €250 million in investments and the acquisition of approximately 170,000 sqm of new land for the development and upgrading of airport infrastructure.
Key projects include the construction of a new non-Schengen terminal, new aircraft stands, a new cargo and logistics area, as well as major improvements to airport accessibility and the surrounding road network. The Masterplan also includes sustainability and urban regeneration initiatives, with new green areas and pedestrian and cycle paths designed to strengthen the connection between the airport and the city.
The Masterplan will support the airport’s sustainable development towards a capacity of 17.3 million passengers per year by 2035.
The presentation was attended by Roberto Fico, President of the Campania Region; Gaetano Manfredi, Mayor of Naples and the Metropolitan City of Naples; Carlo Mearelli, ENAC Special Commissioner; Alexander D’Orsogna, ENAC Director General; Carlo Borgomeo, Chairman of GESAC; and Roberto Barbieri, CEO of GESAC.
